North Korea drops fresh photos of Kim Jong Un after death rumors – Pyongyang just put out new pictures of Kim Jong Un looking very much alive, right after social media lit up with claims he had died from a brain hemorrhage.
State media says he visited a clothing and footwear exhibition in Pyongyang on Monday. In the photos he’s walking around, checking out kids’ shoes (including a little pink pair), talking to officials, and looking at school uniforms and backpacks. His daughter Kim Ju-ae is right there with him.
The rumors started with a Chinese dissident in the U.S. who posted that Kim had a massive brain bleed, fell into a coma, got rushed to a hospital in Beijing, and died. He also claimed the body was being secretly flown back. None of it came with any proof, and South Korean officials said they haven’t heard anything that backs it up.
This isn’t the first time rumors like this have popped up about Kim. North Korea almost never addresses them directly they just drop photos of him out doing normal leader stuff. These new images are the latest example.
Right now there’s zero solid evidence he’s dead or even had a medical emergency. The photos are the only thing officially out there so far.
