North Korea Showcases Combat Drones and Military AI, Unveils 600mm “Sniper” Rocket System
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for absolute superiority in drone technology and accelerated military artificial intelligence development, as Pyongyang showcased its latest unmanned weapons at the Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Development-2026 exhibition on October 29.
The exhibition featured strategic and tactical drones, including suicide attack drones, alongside demonstrations of tactical cruise missiles and drone-launched weapons. North Korean state media claimed the systems struck their targets with 100% accuracy.
The event also marked the first public live-fire demonstration of North Korea’s upgraded 600mm multiple rocket launcher, dubbed “Sniper,” highlighting Pyongyang’s efforts to expand its precision-strike capabilities and modernise its armed forces for future warfare.
The display comes as North Korea continues to accelerate the development of unmanned combat systems and AI-powered military technology.
