NOTHING WRONG WITH ECL ADVANCING PRECONDITIONS FOR MEETING HH – MUKANDILA
…adds that the rule of Law has been shrinking in Zambia

Lusaka Lawyer Celestine Mambula Mukandila has charged that the rule of law has been shrinking in the country causing tensions more especially on the political front.
And Mr Mukandila says there is nothing wrong with former Republican President Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu in advancing conditions before approaching the proposed dialogue with President Hakainde Hichilema.
Speaking when he featured on Millennium Television’s The Pulse programme, Mr Mukandila observed that there is a serious breakdown in the rule of law in the country.
He said it is normal for the former Head of State to give conditions before meeting President Hichilema to dialogue as proposed by the Oasis Forum and the Church.
He said for example, there is nothing wrong for President Lungu to give a condition of restoring the Patriotic Front records at the Registrar of Societies to the way it was before the ‘illegal convention’ was held on October 24th, 2023.
“Dialogue in itself is a process of bringing parties together which will see parties coming with their own conditions because they want to acquire certain things. Remember we are dealing with an individual who is a former President of this country, he has occupied the Office of the Presidency before. He ruled this country for seven years. That should tell you that whatever y says is not coming from without as he has the full knowledge of running a country,” he said.
“President Lungu knows that the incumbent is capable of influencing and changing details at the Registrar of Societies to where they were before the 24th October, 2023. The people of Zambia are aware that the illegal convention by Miles Sampa had the full blessings of the State. For the first time in the history of Zambia, we were celebrating Independence with the visiting foreign Head of State, we had a political party undergoing a coup d’état which was extremely unconstitutional. And the police were at hand to guard that undemocratic procession.”
Mr Mukandila alleged that whatever has happened to the former ruling party is as a result of the State and the UPND as a political party.
He recalled that the former Registrar of Societies refused to change the details of the PF records and she was fired despite the State saying she was transferred.
“That in itself should tell you that the State had a hand in the whole thing. And that is why President Lungu is advancing that condition. President Lungu has been persecuted, his family has been persecuted as they are always in court,” he stated.
Mr Mukandila further said the country’s democracy is under serious threat.
He said the freedom fighters must be turning in their graves to see what is happening in the country at the moment.

This man is sick. Trying to vilify a person who can not explain where he got the money to gift his children. Then wants to give conditions on meeting the President about reconciliation. Does he even understand that reconciliation doesnt come with conditions?
What Lungu doesnt realise is that he has injured not only the President who he wants to reconcile but the People of Zambia who he has never public rendered an apology to for what he did during his rule.
HH is not the courts. If he injured HH, he can meet him in person. Lungu needs to start with the Zambian people. Reconcile with them otherwise he is taking Zambians for granted like he did no wrong.
Lastly, the writer and his friend Ngwira need to think about who they think they are. They come here make assertions that are too often unfound in the name of Lungu.
For whatever you benfit from Lungu. The rest of us dont. Remember that.
Bwana you made threats that your would sue the state over Mopani. Have you apologised? Rather arrogant of you to make such a claim and fail to come back and say sorry, I was wrong for misleading you on this issue. Lungu has sometimes embarassed himself cause of people like you and you misguided notions of what you percieve. Let alone the damage and misguide you have left certain individuals who have taken the level of education as insight.
Repent and be gone…..then maybe we may find it our hearts to forgive….stop holding Zambians at ransome
Rather rich of you to suggest that you are even in a position to make pre-conditions.
Ask yourself what HH has to gain from even entertaining the notion?
What does HH have to benefit from reconciliation? Does that mean the cases that are being investigated and in court will suddenly go away? Does that mean that current regime leaders investigations that were suggested will also go away?
What does that suggest to the folks that have just said they will resume “the much needed aid” that helps in the lives of Zambian; say? What confidence will they have in Zambia? Its their tax payers that bear the brunt.
Ba Writer imwe sit down and think about some of the things you suggest. Already, Miles Sampa is on firm footing on PF leadership aside from the confusion that you, Mwamba and the Lungu hangers on want us to believe.
ECL has no right to put conditions in meeting the president his excellency HAKAINDE HICHILEMA. in this case ECL is the beggar and cannot hold talks starting with sly inedos of saying HH must make him the leader of the PF. Really laughable.
The problem is that Mr. Lungu expects the President, Mr. Hichilema, to run the country exactly in the same lawless way he used to do when he was president. Mr. Mukandila equally expects the same because this is the PF way of running things. You use “amaka” as President to get things done, even those that are unlawful.
I thought you start with a meeting to establish common ground before you can make demands. But then, PF have a funny way of conducting business which defies logic.
I think HH should just leave these PF goons alone. It is hard to reason with them. In their universe, only what they want and say is right, no matter how ridiculous.
No sane person can reconcile with someone who calls you a crook or Mambala even calls HH Lacuna meaning vacant. He even challenges HH 7 to a fight. The same man calls the President a liar even going as as saying that HH 7 practices satanism simply because he defeated him.
Let’s look at the two characters:
HH got 6 points from Kalomo sec school and went straight to school of Humanities. @ UNZA
ECL failed in maths at grade 12 from Mukuba sec school.
He had to do a journalism course and later went to UNZA as a mature student in Law school.
HH has a masters degree in business administration MBA.
ECL has no post graduate degree.
HH was CEO of Grant Thornton accounting firm.
ECL was a junior lawyer at legal aid
HH has married only once to his present wife.
ECL has had several marriages.
HH is a known SAD church member.
ECL unknown denomination.
HH has received 4 honorary
PhDs including UNZA and other reputable universities and has yet to get more.
ECL got 1
Phd from UNZA .
In short who can reconcile or talk to a failure. Lungu should not occupy space in any intellectual ‘s mind. Only an idle mind focus on non issues such as this one.
