NRPUP EXIT FROM TONSE COULD TRIGGER MP EXPULSIONS – GEARS
The GEARS Initiative has warned that the decision by the NRPUP to leave the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance could create uncertainty for MPs who contested the recent elections under the alliance
Newly elected Milenge NRPUP MP Gystave Chonde said he would respect the position of the party leadership and did not expect the development to affect his ability to work with the party.
The NRPUP and Resolute Party have both left the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance and endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema.
GEARS Initiative, however, says the situation could potentially lead to confusion and possible expulsions involving NRPUP MPs who contested under the alliance arrangement.
