NRPUP SCOOPS CHIMWEMWE CONSTITUENCY, UPND KISSES DUST
NRPUP parliamentary candidate Mwenya Musenge has won the Chimwemwe Parliamentary seat in Kitwe defeating UPND candidate Mwaya Mpasa in the 2026 General Election.
Musenge makes a return to Parliament after previously serving as Member of Parliament for Chimwemwe from 2011 to 2016.
He defeated Mpasa who defected to the UPND from the Patriotic Front and previously served as immediate past Mayor of Kitwe.
Musenge’s victory marks his return to the National Assembly after a decade and adds to NRPUP’s reported parliamentary gains on the Copperbelt.
Zambians went to the polls on August 13, 2026, to elect the President, Members of Parliament, mayors, council chairpersons and councillors.
