NRPUP’S PAVYUMA KALABO RETAINS WUSAKILE SEAT WITH 17,849 VOTES
PAVYUMA Kalabo of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) has retained the Wusakile parliamentary seat after polling 17,849 votes.
Kalabo defeated his closest rival, United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Chibesa Katayi, who polled 8,836 votes.
Independent candidate Rick Kamboyi finished third with 1,519 votes, followed by another independent candidate, Noah Chizinga, who received 639 votes.
Citizens First candidate Mumba Ernest polled 95 votes.
Wusakile Returning Officer Emmanuel Chongo declared Kalabo duly elected Member of Parliament at around midnight.
Chongo said a total of 29,434 ballots were cast, of which 476 were rejected.
