Only Two African Countries Make Luxembourg’s 2026 Visa-Free Entry List
Luxembourg has released its official list of countries whose citizens can enter the European nation without a visa in 2026, with only two African countries included among more than 50 visa-exempt nations.
According to the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, ‘Mauritius and Seychelles’ the visa-free policy allows citizens of the listed countries to travel to Luxembourg for short stays without obtaining a visa in advance, subject to applicable entry conditions.
The limited representation of African countries on the list has drawn attention, as only two nations from the continent qualified for the exemption.
Luxembourg, a member of the Schengen Area, applies common European Union rules on short-stay travel, allowing eligible visitors from visa-exempt countries to enter for tourism, business or family visits within the permitted duration.
Travelers from countries not covered by the exemption are required to obtain a Schengen visa before travelling to Luxembourg.
The government also noted that visa-free entry does not guarantee admission, as border authorities may still require proof of sufficient funds, accommodation, return travel and the purpose of the visit.
