OPPOSITION LEADERS URGED TO STOP “SOCIAL MEDIA PARROTING” AND ENGAGE HH

Opposition leaders have been urged to stop addressing national political concerns mainly through social media and instead seek a direct audience with President Hakainde Hichilema.

The call is directed particularly at Socialist Party leader Fred M’membe and Citizens First leader Harry Kalaba, who have been encouraged to use established channels of communication to present issues of national interest directly to the President.

The statement argues that opposition leaders should engage President Hichilema privately, seek common ground on urgent concerns and then update Zambians on any developments

It further questions whether writing lengthy statements on social media without directly engaging the Head of State can effectively resolve the challenges facing opposition politics.

The two opposition leaders have been urged to prioritise dialogue and direct engagement over social media exchanges.
