“Ours President is alive”-Chats Blantyre residents as they welcome Chakwera

Multitudes of people sang, ‘afa ndi Ambuyako abwana alipo ‘ in direct reference to some social media influencers, who have been spreading rumours that President Lazarus Chakwera, is seriously ill.

The people, who started converging at Clock Tower in the City as early as 6 am, were kept on their feet to sounds by Symon and Kendal as well as the famous ‘Sakuchoka Chakwera’ by Dan Lu.

In the company of First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera, the President momentarily abandoned his Presidential fleet of vehicles, and majestically walked all the way from the Clock Tower, right through Blantyre CBD, to Victoria Avenue.

To spice up the occasion, President Chakwera made several push ups along the way just to prove that he is in good health, to the delight of the crowd.
