OVER 4,000 ELECTION LOCAL OBSERVERS, MONITORS ACCREDITED
Lusaka Assistant District Electoral Officer Mr. Victor Kagoli has announced that, as of Saturday 8th August 2026, the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) had accredited 4,285 local election observers and monitors in the district.
Mr. Kagoli explained that this figure equates to an average of three observers and monitors per polling station, ensuring that all voting stations across the district are fully manned.
He emphasised that the accreditation process remains ongoing to accommodate the growing number of organisations and individuals seeking accreditation.
To meet this demand, Mr. Kagoli said the district has received an additional 10 accreditation kits from the ECZ, doubling the initial allocation of 10 kits, and that this will help manage the growing number of applicants.
