Over Eight African heads of states are expected to be in attendance for Dr. Kenneth Kaunda’s state funeral in Lusaka.

Among those expected include Kenya’s Uhuru Kenya, Philippe Nyusi of Mozambique, Ghana’s Nana Akufo-Addo, Malawi’s Lazarous Chakwera and Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa.

President Edgar Lungu says the high profile dignitaries coming to mourn Dr. Kaunda shows the great leader that he was.

And President Edgar Lungu has declared tomorrow Friday and Wednesday next week July 7, the day on which Dr. Kaunda will be put to rest as public holidays.

President Lungu says his will accord Zambians an opportunity to pay their last respects to Zambia’s first president.

Dr. Kaunda’s state funeral will be held at the show grounds in Lusaka under strict adherence to pandemic guidelines.
