PAUL MOONGA URGES PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TO STOP CALLING PF MEMBERS THIEVES

By:Thomas Mwale

Former UPND strategist Paul Moonga says he left the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) due to frustration over what he describes as the party’s continued attacks on the former ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

Mr. Moonga told Sun FM TV in an interview that he found it hurtful to remain in a party that according to him, continues to label PF members as thieves and blame the former ruling party for excessive borrowing.

He said those remarks influenced his decision to reunite with his former colleagues in the PF.

The former PF Lusaka Province Chairperson has appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema to refrain from repeatedly criticising the PF over past alleged wrongdoings and instead focus on addressing other national issues.

Mr. Moonga also said he was satisfied with comments suggesting that his departure from the ruling party was a non-factor, stating that he had merely exercised his constitutional right to freedom of association by joining a political team where he believes he can work comfortably.
