PF CONSTITUENCY CHAIRMAN IN LUFWANYAMA LEADS HUNDREDS TO JOIN UPND…AS HON MATAMBO CONTINUES PARTY MOBILISATION
Lufwanyama Patriotic Front Constituency (PF) Chairman has resigned and led hundreds other defectors to join the
United Party For National Development (UPND).
Emmanuel Silwimba said he has resigned from PF because the party is dead and lacking direction and does not want to be left behind without participating in the party for national development under the pragmatism of President Hakainde Hichilema.
” We have come and we want to be part of the agenda of developing our beautiful country.” He said amid jubilation.
Mr Silwimba added that President Hakainde Hichilema and UPND government mean well for the people of Zambia and urged others to dump PF because there is nothing any more.
He outlined some of the major achievements by the UPND government such as free education policy, increased Constituency Development Fund, stabilized economy among others.
Another defector Mr Bruce mweemba who has re-joined the UPND party after he went and stood as independent candidate saying he regretted the move but ready to work and grow the party for the betterment of the country.
Others who rejoined the UPND party includes former UPND MP Leonard Fungulwe, council chairperson Kennedy kazeza and former district commissioner Miniver Mutesa.
The resignation of PF Constituency Chairman and hundreds others according to many political commentators spoken to closes the chapter for a former ruling party.
And Copperbelt Province UPND Chairman Hon.Elisha Matambo welcomed the move taken by hundreds of defectors from PF and other political parties to join the ruling party calling it as progressive.
Those who joined were drawn from various political party, and those who left the party for different reasons including the ones who were supporting independent candidates
Hon Matambo was speaking in Lufwanyama District under Chieftainess Shimukunana when he met party officials to re-invigorate efforts for party mobilisations starting with the branches and wards.
Hon Matambo who doubles as Copperbelt Minister and UPND Copperbelt Chairman stated that the party is one big family and every one is welcome to come and contribute for the common goal to developing Zambia.
Hon Matambo thanked those joining for the first time and those who are joining for the second time calling the decisions as best they have ever made because UPND is a big mansion to accommodate everyone.
“Welcome every one for making this decision and you are starting on the equal footing with all members because we want to walk side by side.” He said.
The UPND Copperbelt Province strongman urged all party officials in Lufwanyama District to continue mobilising the party and never go to sleep going forward as woo more members.
Hon Matambo has assured the Lufwanyama residents that road networks and mobile network in lambaland are on the cards further assuring them of better days because President Hakainde Hichilema is on top of things .
On fertilizer, Hon. Matambo explained to the people that the contractors who were contracted by the previous government never supplied any thing but air.. ” They supplied nothing hence delaying the process.Go and explain to the people in the branches and wards.” Hon Matambo told the party officials.
He further said going forward the delayment in fertilizer distribution will never happen and soon the government will start distribution fertilizer for the next farming season.
Hon Matambo is on the party mobilisation drive of the Copperbelt Province starting from branches ,wards and was accompanied by Copperbelt Province Vice Chairman for administration Mr Jestopher Kolala Copperbelt Youth Chairman Wallen Hinyama and several others.
