PF IS GOING NOWHERE AT THE MOMENT
The Candidates’ Comment
On January 23, 2022, The Candidates ran an editorial comment, “A PARTY OF THIEVES PF CAN’T BOUNCE BACK”
In this comment, we stated that PF cannot win in Kabwata Constituency no matter what they do.
“They can use their own feelings to please themselves about some positive political prospect but the truth is, PF will not win in Kabwata Constituency. The cut is so deep that Zambians have not forgotten about the criminality of these crooks. While they were in power, petty thugs in the name of cadres were busy burning money in a clear show of affluence of it. Their cadres were all over flaunting money when most hardworking people were struggling. All that behavior of those PF cadres was because their leaders were running a criminal enterprise whose specialty is plunder.”
Today, we would like to add to that comment that, PF in its current form is unrepentant, drunk with arrogance and stupidity.
Firstly, the former ruling party still believes that they were not wrong in any way and their body language shows, in more ways than not that, they think the people who voted against them are stupid. They do not want to take stock of their own evil, their shortcomings in an honest way and admit that indeed, they deserved to be removed from power. You see this kind of attitude even in their way of politics. Today, these PF people are condemning the United Party for National Development (UPND) for things they themselves did. They cry about the unprofessionalism of the Police yet, under PF rule, the Police where not professional at all but an abused institution that served their interest. They are crying to the Human Right Commission (HRC) and the Church as well as Civil Society Organizations (CSO) to talk for them yet, when themselves where in power, they called these oversight institutions sellouts who mean nothing. Why is PF today running to these same institutions which they did not believe in not long ago?
Secondly, the conduct of PF leaders shows that they are still arrogant people. Look at the content of their mouths as they tussle over succeeding Edgar Lungu! If Nkandu Luo can say she wants to beat Chishimba Kambwili, what does that tell Zambians? Not so long ago, Jean Kapata was telling Chishimba Kambwili that Chikala chobe. This is nothing but arrogance of the highest order of elements who think Zambians are too stupid to easily trust them with power again.
Thirdly, PF appears more stupid than not. This is why any Jim and jack can today say they want to be President of that party. If you look at the caliber of elements that have shown interest to succeed Edgar, who really is worth talking about? We believe PF has to survive for the sake of democracy and not because we are inspired by any of those who have expressed interest to succeed Edgar. Most of them are part of the same blamed characters who worked with Edgar. What is it that they stood for while Edgar’s administration offended Zambians? Of course we know that save for Chishimba Kambwili who was never really part of the Cabinet and party leadership that cost PF the election, all of them are guilty and not fit to lead anyone.
At The Candidates, we do not say things based on our feelings but truth. We say these things not because we hate PF or anyone in PF but because it is true.
PF has not rebranded into anything. It is still the same arrogant, unrepentant and thuggerous political party that has a lot of dishonest elements.
We dare say, provided that PF takes a better route than the rubbish we keep seeing in the media, they can bounce back. But on the route they are on, let them forget – they are going nowhere. They are counting on Hakainde to fail for them to come back but just these six months that UPND has been in power has shown that Zambians did not deserve to be ruled by the former ruling party in the first place. Yes, Hakainde will make mistakes and has made mistakes already but his weaknesses can’t outweigh his strengths whereas, the weakness of PF outweighed their strengths. Ultimately, Zambians are better where they are than where they were during PF horrible days.
