FAILURE IS FAILURE TO RISE UP AFTER FALLING –MWATA KAZEMBE
……assures PF MPs that they can still be effective in Parliament despite the numbers
Lusaka…. Saturday, July 30, 2022 (Smart Eagles)
His Royal Highness Mwata Kazembe has counselled the opposition Patriotic Front that failure is “failure” to rise up after falling.
The traditional leader told PF MPs that they should not be discouraged because of numbers in Parliament.
He said that the lawmakers and the entire PF have a duty to make the current administration accountable.
“Failure is failure to rise up after falling. You have a big responsibility,” he said.
“You might be a minority…..even your friends were once a minority in Parliament, how did they defeat Bill 10?”
Chief Kazembe said there’s need for the country to move forward.
He told the PF that their loss is a lesson although a bitter one.
The Chief said this when senior PF members and MPs paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Mwansabombwe district, Luapula Province today.
Amongst those that visited him is Raphael Nakacinda who implored the traditional leader to help champion unity in the country.
Hon Nakacinda, who is the PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity said PF remains committed to providing checks and balances to the new dawn administration.
“From the time we left power, this is the first time we are coming more or less officially with the MPs and former ministers. We thought that taking advantage of the ceremony to assure you that we in the opposition we continue to provide the necessary services to this nation in ensuring that we provide checks and balances to those in power objectively,” he said.
“….and also using experience when we were in government to see whether we can guide them. Your Royal Highness, personally, this is the second time I am found in a situation where there is a change of government.”
