PF SUPPORTERS DEFECT TO UPND IN MAZABUKA
Over 70 Patriotic Front supporters in Mazabuka Central Constituency who were backing Independent candidate Gary Nkombo have defected to the United Party for National Development
The defectors, led by 2021 Mazabuka Central losing councillor Sandra Mwila, defected at the UPND yesterday.
They vowed to rally behind President Hakainde Hichilema and all adopted UPND candidates.
Mwila said the group dumped the PF for the UPND due to various developmental projects initiated by the ruling party.
She added that they have decided to work with the UPND because the opposition has no vision for the country.
And in welcoming the defectors, UPND Southern Province Vice Youth Chairperson Voaster Nchimunya described the defection as a boost to the party ahead of the elections.
Nchimunya called on the party to welcome the defectors and integrate them into the system.
