PF TOASTS ITALA VICTORY…. thanks the people for their full support before, during and after the elections

The opposition PF has appreciated the people of Itala Ward, Lunga District for their unwavering support during and after the by-elections.
Residents of Itala Ward converged at the PF’s command center as early as 06:00hrs to celebrate the victory of Bornface Chalwe, who was last night declared winner of the by-election after beating his rival Cephas Mumba of the ruling UPND.
The PF’s command center was a hive of activity as the residents celebrated the victory in grand style.
And PF Mufulira Central Member of Parliament Hon Golden Mwila said the spirit exhibited by the people was overwhelming.
Hon Mwila said it is clear that the UPND will have it difficult to continue ruling beyond 2026 because of the failure to fulfill their campaign promises.
“We in the PF are extremely happy with your support. We have the full confidence of going into 2026 knowing too well that the people are with us. What you have done to elect a PF candidate who will work well with your MP Hon Chanda Katotobwe will result in bringing development closer to you. We say thank you for your continued support,” he told the crowd that had gathered at the PF command center.
“It is clear that most people are already tired of the UPND government. But worry not 2026 is near, you should speak the loudest in the ballot box. We in the PF are more than ready to continue where we ended in terms of infrastructure development, health, agriculture, education and other sectors.”
Speaking earlier, Chilubi Member of Parliament Hon Mulenga Fube said he was impressed with the voter turn out despite the maneuvers by the UPND to try and steal the votes.
He said it is good and gratifying that the will of the people has prevailed.
And area Member of Parliament Hon Katotobwe thanked the people for their support saying the PF will never dissapoint them.
He said the PF means well for the people and that this is the more reason why the people should continue to trust the party.
