SAFA Wants Quick Decision Ahead Of AFCON Qualifiers
According to FarPost, SAFA is hoping to finalise the appointment in the coming days as Bafana prepare for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Guinea in September.
The urgency comes after Broos’ contract reached its conclusion on July 31, leaving the association with a limited window to ensure a smooth transition.
The incoming coach will need enough time to select his technical team and begin preparations for the upcoming qualifiers.
Mosimane Remains Top Contender
Mosimane has been viewed as one of the strongest options for the role due to his extensive experience at club and international level.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly SC coach has enjoyed success across Africa and the Middle East, including winning the CAF Champions League three times.
The 61-year-old recently indicated his interest in coaching the national team, strengthening speculation that he could return to the Bafana setup.

Melesi has also indicated that he will no longer be involved in the senior national team structures due to his commitments with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq.
