Polish Foreign Minister Issues Stark Warning to Russia

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has issued a strong warning to Russia, declaring that Poland would respond militarily if it were attacked and suffered casualties.

“If you attack us and cause casualties, Poland will retaliate. Even if NATO doesn’t follow. We’ve been fighting you for 500 years. We won’t give up,” Sikorski said.

The remarks underscore Poland’s increasingly firm stance on national defense amid heightened tensions with Russia and the ongoing war in neighboring Ukraine. Warsaw has been one of Kyiv’s strongest supporters, significantly increasing defense spending and modernizing its armed forces in response to regional security concerns.

The statement comes as Poland continues to emphasize its readiness to defend its territory while calling for stronger deterrence against potential Russian aggression. Russia has not immediately responded to Sikorski’s comments.
