PRESIDENT HICHILEMA HOLDS 65 CAMPAIGN RALLIES IN 19 DAYS

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has addressed 65 campaign rallies across the country in the 19 days since launching his re-election campaign at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on June 28.



The nationwide campaign has seen the Head of State criss-cross all 10 provinces as he seeks a fresh five-year mandate from the more than 8.7 million registered voters ahead of the August 13 general election.



Between July 1 and 2, President Hichilema held rallies in Mwinilunga, Solwezi, Chavuma, Zambezi, Kabompo and Kalumbila districts in North-Western Province before moving to Western Province, where he addressed rallies in Nkeyema, Luampa, Kaoma, Lukulu, Mitete, Sikongo, Kalabo and Mongu on July 3 and 4.

His campaign trail then took him to Central Province, where he held meetings in Chitambo, Serenje, Mkushi, Kapiri Mposhi, Kabwe and Chibombo between July 5 and 6.



On July 7 and 8, the President campaigned in Masaiti, Mpongwe, Kitwe, Chililabombwe, Chingola and Ndola on the Copperbelt before touring Eastern Province on July 9 and 10, where he addressed rallies in Chama, Chasefu, Lundazi, Lumezi, Nyimba, Petauke, Lusangazi and Sinda.



President Hichilema later held rallies in Luangwa, Rufunsa, Chongwe, Shantumbu in Kafue District, Chilanga and Kafue Town in Lusaka Province before proceeding to Muchinga Province, where he campaigned in Lavushimanda, Mpika, Kanchibiya, Shiwang’andu, Nakonde, Mafinga, Isoka and Chinsali.



His campaign continued in Northern Province on July 16 and 17, with rallies in Chilubi, Kaputa, Nsama, Mporokoso, Mpulungu, Mbala, Mungwi and Kasama, before concluding the Luapula leg on July 18 and 19 with meetings in Chienge, Nchelenge, Kawambwa, Mwense, Lunga, Chifunabuli, Samfya and Mansa.



President Hichilema is expected to continue his campaign in Southern Province tomorrow, where he is scheduled to address rallies in several districts.
