UPND OFFICIAL CLAIMS HH’S FIRST TWO TERMS SHOULD START IN 2031 🇿🇲
Long-serving UPND official Michael Chuzu has argued that President Hakainde Hichilema’s two constitutional presidential terms should only begin counting from 2031.
Speaking on KBN’s Big Hour programme, Chuzu reportedly argued that Hichilema is currently completing what he considers to be the unfinished presidential tenure of late UPND founding president Anderson Mazoka.
Chuzu further said the UPND is putting measures in place to ensure the party remains in power for a long time.
The interpretation has sparked debate over Zambia’s constitutional limits on presidential tenure and whether Hichilema could legally seek another term beyond two terms.
