PRESIDENT HICHILEMA TELLS LUAPULA REASONS FOR VOTING FOR UPND
President Hakainde Hichilema yesterday engaged thousands of residents of Chienge, Nchelenge, Kawambwa and Mwense districts Luapula Province, with a consistent message of why they need to vote for UPND.
Voting is scheduled for next month, August 13.
President Hichilema told the crowd at each of the four points where he stopped that he was in Luapula Province to share with them a very important message for their lives and their children.
“That message is that elections are upon us. On August 13 we are voting for councillors, council chairpersons and mayors, MPs and the President.
“I’m travelling across the country and other nine provinces have all agreed to vote for UPND. We want to continued with the developments that we have seen in the last four years and 10 months,” the President said
He said come polling day, “we are voting for free education on August 13, so that it can continue.”
“We are voting for peace. We are voting for social cash transfer to continue. We are voting for cash for work to continue.
“We are voting for the quick completion of the Nchelenge – Chienge road,” he said.
President Hichilema said the people of Luapula Province should not be deceived by other political voices.
“We are voting for improvement of roads such as Nchelenge – Chienge – Kaputa – Mporokoso road. Nchelenge – Matampala road needs to be completed and done nicely. The road from Kashikishi – Nchelenge – Mwansabombwe – Mwense – Mansa needs repairs and we will do that.
“We want to revive the Kenani rubber plantation here in Nchelenge; we want to get an investor in that plantation so that young people here can find jobs there. You need to vote for UPND so that we can restock fish in Mweru and Mweru wa Ntipa,” said President Hichilema.
Today, President Hichilema will continue with his engagements in Lunga, Chifunabuli, Samfya and Mansa districts.
