President Mnangagwa Swears in Tagwirei as Minister of Economic Development and Investment Promotion
Harare — President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday swore in Senator Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei as Minister of Economic Development and Investment Promotion at State House in Harare.
The ceremony followed the separation of the former Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion into two distinct portfolios.
Professor Mthuli Ncube has been reassigned as Minister of Finance, while Tagwirei assumes leadership of the newly created Ministry of Economic Development and Investment Promotion.
The President acted in accordance with Subsection 1 and 6 of Section 104 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
Tagwirei took the ministerial oath during the morning ceremony.
Officials stated that the two ministries will now operate under separate mandates with clearly defined leadership and responsibilities.
The move forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts under its Vision 2030 development agenda.
The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services announced the appointments on Monday.
