Prophet Apologises Over Sermon Parable Sparking Confusion About National Stadium Minerals

HARARE — Prophet Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi has issued a formal apology after a parable delivered in a recent sermon sparked public confusion and concern on social media.

In a press statement released on 15 October 2026, Mellontik Orasi Ministries International said portions of the Prophet’s message had been misquoted and taken out of context online.

The ministry stated that the parable was intended to offer hope by highlighting Zimbabwe’s mineral wealth, much of which remains undiscovered, and to encourage national pride and faith in the country’s future.

It explicitly denied that the Prophet claimed minerals lie beneath the National Sports Stadium or any other national site, describing such interpretations as overly literal.

The ministry apologised to anyone disturbed or offended by the circulating accounts and said it never intended to cause alarm or spread false information about national property.

Mellontik Orasi Ministries International reaffirmed its commitment to messages of hope, unity and progress, pledged greater care in future teachings to ensure clarity and responsibility, and asked the public and media to regard the statement as the authoritative account of the Prophet’s remarks.
