PUTIN WARNS THE WORLD: “DON’T ASSUME NUCLEAR WEAPONS WILL NEVER BE USED”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the world is undergoing a major geopolitical transformation, shifting away from the previous Western-dominated unipolar order toward a more multipolar system.
Putin cautioned that as major powers increasingly confront one another, the possibility of nuclear weapons being used should not be taken for granted.
He also rejected accusations that Russia is seeking to intimidate NATO, arguing that Moscow’s warnings are instead a response to what it sees as attempts to pressure or intimidate Russia.
Meanwhile, Putin reportedly dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed energy truce between Russia and Ukraine as absurd, raising further questions about whether such a proposal could address the deeper issues underlying the war.
The nuclear warning is particularly significant.
When nuclear-armed powers openly discuss the possibility of nuclear weapons being used, the risks extend far beyond Russia and Ukraine.
One miscalculation. One mistake. One decision made under extreme pressure could have consequences reaching well beyond Europe and the United States.
As the global order continues to change, the central question remains: will a multipolar world create a more balanced international system—or a more dangerous one?
