President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed and accepted the interim report of the Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System, chaired by retired Constitutional Court Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga.

The Commission, assisted by Advocate Sesi Baloyi SC and Advocate Sandile Khumalo SC, submitted its interim report on 17 December 2025, in line with timelines set by the President.

After studying the report, Ramaphosa confirmed that he accepts its recommendations.

The President also welcomed the Commission’s decision to refer several matters for immediate criminal investigation and urgent prosecutorial decisions.

In addition, he noted the recommendations relating to the employment status of certain individuals, including proposals for their suspension.
