Real Madrid want the six Premier League clubs that abandoned the European Super League to share its setup costs.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man United and Tottenham are being asked to contribute to the initial expenses of the failed project, despite withdrawing shortly after its launch in 2021.

The total costs could reach €80 million, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have so far shared the promotional expenses. Whether the six English clubs are legally obliged to pay will depend on the interpretation of the original shareholders’ agreement.
