RNC Chair Joe Gruters: GOP Turnout Machine Ready to Shock the World and Win the Senate Tomorrow
Heading into Election Day, Republican National Committee Chair Joe Gruters delivered a clear message on Fox News: the GOP is positioned to defy history, capture most toss-up Senate races, and seize control of the chamber.
“I think we could win the Senate. I think we win most of these toss-up races, not only from candidate quality but from the resources in our turnout efforts that’s on the ground,” Gruters said. “See, what we’ve done with the RNC is we started two years ago. We’ve had people on the ground for six months, and it all comes down to turnout. We are a turnout machine. We have a great team, we have great candidates that we’re working with on the ground, and we think that as long as we turn out our votes as expected tomorrow, expect us to defy history and win control of the Senate tomorrow night.”
When pressed on whether Republicans face a turnout problem, given that Democrats typically bank early votes while the GOP base prefers Election Day, Gruters owned the dynamic.
“Yeah, it’s fair to say, but the thing is, this is what we’ve traditionally done. Republicans like to vote on Election Day. From state to state, our base will turn out, and the president’s been out there fighting every single day. He’s done more rallies this cycle than he did in 2020.”
He pointed to the combined effort of the president’s travel, the vice president’s ground work, RNC staff, and candidates themselves. “Listen, I think we’re going to shock the world tomorrow night. I think the Democrats should not count their eggs in their basket yet, because I think that we have a chance to win.
I think we have a chance to defy history, and I think we’re going to do it, because I think people will vote for common sense at the end of the day, rather than these left-wing lunatics that are proposing some type of communist utopia that doesn’t exist.”
