Ross Kasikili Wins Roma Constituency With 17,201 Votes

UPND’s Ross Kasikili has been elected Member of Parliament for Roma Constituency after polling 17,201 votes.

Mr. Kasikili defeated Chilando Chitangala of the Resolute Party, who garnered 16,257 votes.



Returning Officer Penelope Aongola declared Mr. Kasikili duly elected at the Northmead Secondary School totalling centre.



Other results saw Independent candidate Sean Tembo polling 6,414 votes, Independent Glead Mwenya 4,209, Francis Mulenga 2,024, Socialist Party’s Chungu Zhane 1,166, and Chansa Robert 536 votes.



Speaking to ZNBC News after his victory, Mr. Kasikili said the win means the people of Roma Constituency will benefit from 40 million Kwacha for development. He thanked residents for their support.



Meanwhile, the UPND also scooped three ward seats in Roma Constituency — Silwizya, Kalingalinga, and Mulungushi.

  1. Sean Tembo, you have tried my boy. This time around you have scooped thousands of votes. Don’t think presidential yet. You are still raw. Go back to the drawing board and scheme something new, you have five years ahead of you.
