RUSSIA DEPLOYS MORE NUCLEAR SPECIALISTS TO IRAN
Russia has reportedly redeployed additional nuclear specialists to Iran, including personnel working at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, according to Bloomberg.
Around 42 specialists from Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom are currently at the facility, up from approximately 20 in April.
Moscow is reportedly planning to increase the number to around 100 specialists by this autumn, provided the security situation remains stable.
According to the report, several Russian specialists were already working in Iran before the outbreak of the recent conflict but were evacuated following the initial Israeli-American strikes.
The renewed Russian presence at Bushehr highlights Moscow’s continued involvement in Iran’s civilian nuclear sector as concerns remain over regional security and the potential for further attacks on nuclear facilities.
The development could also reinforce Russia’s role in protecting and maintaining Iran’s nuclear infrastructure amid heightened tensions between Tehran, Washington and Tel Aviv.
