Russia Reportedly Uses New Explosive Drone Designed to Cut Through Power Pylons and Metal Bridges
🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russia has reportedly used a new jet-powered drone equipped with a specialized explosive charge designed to sever electricity pylons and metal bridge structures, according to Serhii Beskrestnov, known as “Flash,” an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on defense technology.
Beskrestnov described the development as “bad news,” warning that the weapon could pose a new threat to Ukraine’s critical infrastructure
According to the report, the jet-powered drone carries an approximately 40-kilogram shaped charge designed to cut through steel structures, including high-voltage transmission towers.
Unlike conventional strikes targeting power plants directly, this technology reportedly focuses on electricity transmission infrastructure. Damaging pylons and transmission lines could disrupt electricity distribution in affected areas and make repairs more difficult.
The reported development highlights the evolving use of drone technology in the Russia–Ukraine war, where attacks on energy infrastructure continue to pose challenges for electricity supplies and civilian services.
