RUSSIA TURNS TO INDIA FOR FUEL SUPPLIES AS UKRAINIAN STRIKES DISRUPT ENERGY SECTOR

Russia is reportedly seeking additional fuel supplies from India to offset disruptions in its domestic energy market following a series of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting Russian oil infrastructure.

According to Reuters, at least one shipment of Indian fuel has already been sent toward Russia, with more deliveries expected. The report indicates that nearly 40% of Russia’s refining capacity could remain offline for at least two months if no further attacks occur.

Major Russian energy companies, including Rosneft, Gazprom Neft, and Lukoil, have reportedly approached Indian refineries to secure additional fuel volumes as Moscow attempts to stabilize domestic supplies.

The move highlights growing pressure on Russia’s energy sector as Ukrainian drone strikes continue targeting key oil facilities, causing refinery disruptions and contributing to fuel market challenges inside the country.

While Russia remains one of the world’s largest oil producers, the damage to refining infrastructure has created a shortage of processed fuel products, forcing Moscow to explore alternative supply channels, including cooperation with India.
