RUSSIA WARNS US OVER MISSILE DEPLOYMENT IN NORWAY
Russia has issued a sharp warning to the United States and Norway after a U.S. Air Force aircraft delivered a U.S. Navy containerized missile-launch system to Norway for a military exercise in the High North.
🔸 Moscow said the deployment of the weapons, which are capable of reaching large parts of European Russia, including Moscow, effectively “resets” strategic dialogue with Washington.
🔸 Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that deployment sites, command centers and supporting infrastructure associated with the American missile systems could receive “special attention” from Russia’s deterrence forces.
🔸 Moscow said such facilities could become legitimate military targets if an armed conflict were to break out.
The warning marks another escalation in tensions between Moscow and Washington over the growing military presence in the Arctic and Northern Europe.
