RUSSIAN DRONES HELP NIGER CRUSH MUTINY
Niger’s government has regained control of Air Base 101 in Niamey with help from Russian Africa Corps drone strikes.
The mutiny was contained after Russian drones targeted mutineer positions overnight.
Heavy gunfire first broke out at the airport, the presidency, and the base early Saturday. The mutineers had seized strategic installations and cut state broadcasts
Pro-government forces have now secured the key sites.
The pattern is familiar. Young officers turned. They were crushed. The junta stays.
If Russian drones can crush a mutiny, what happens when the junta becomes the target. And if the army cannot secure its own base, how will it defeat terrorists.
