SCO SUMMIT: PUTIN, XI, MODI AND PEZESHKIAN EXPECTED IN BISHKEK
Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, scheduled for August 31 and September 1 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The summit, being held as the SCO marks its 25th anniversary, is expected to bring together several key leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Putin is also expected to hold separate bilateral meetings with several participating leaders, including Xi, Modi and Pezeshkian.
The discussions are expected to focus on bilateral relations, economic and energy cooperation, and regional and international security issues, amid growing geopolitical tensions and closer strategic ties among several SCO members.
