SDA EVANGELIST WHO CONDEMNED PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S PAPAL VISIT NO LONGER A MEMBER
The SDA Church in Zambia defends President Hakainde Hichilema for meeting Pope Francis at the Vatican last week
The Church also clarifies that the purpoted SDA Pastor who went viral on social media, condemning the visit, is no longer a member of the church.
The joint statement by the two Presidents of the governing bodies of the SDA Church in Zambia says the man ceased to be a member of the church due to his extremist views and criticism of the church.
Dear Editor,
Let us be clear this. The President is a Head of State for all, all Zambians whatever their tribe, race, sex, colour, or creed (beliefs).
We don’t need to question why the President visited another Head of State. It’s part of his official duties.
However, I wish to discuss the action by the SDA Church on this matter.
In its end-time messages, the Seventh-day Adventists teaches about the impending global crisis around the Sabath, the second coming of Christ and that the office of the papacy is the Anti-christ in all this….
It is in this light that their own Pastor, preaching about end-time messages, questioned the visit of an Adventist, albeit, a President, to the Pope.
The Church has disowned the Pastor.
The Church says:
“We would also like to address the viral video purported to have been made by a Pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Our position is that the Pastor in that video is NOT a bona-fide Minister of the Gospel in our Church and does in any way represent or speak on behalf of the Church due to his extreme positions on biblical and Theological beliefs.”
So has the Church’s view changed about the Catholic Church and the Pope in the manner they teach using the books of Daniel, Mathews, Revelation and the writings of Ellen G. White.
