SDA Pastor points at evidence showing that Jesus is about to come

SEVENTH Day Adventist (SDA) Church Pastor, Harrington Simui Akombwa says such things as some people walking almost half-naked on the streets is evidence that Jesus is about to come.

Dr Akombwa is the SDA Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) president.

Speaking at today’s worship, dubbed Big Sabbath, at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, where SDA global president Pastor Ted Wilson was in attendance, Dr Akombwa reminded congregants that Jesus will return soon.

He said according to the Words of Apostle Paul, the Lord will cut His work short in righteousness.

“Soon Jesus will come! And we are here to hasten that return. When you see people on the streets of Lusaka walking almost half-naked, that is a sign that Jesus is about to come,” Dr Akombwa said.

“That is why we are meeting in this place to get ourselves ready to play our part, because God is almost impatient. Sin is everywhere and He wants to end it now but you and I have a part [to play]. It is for that reason that I’m very happy to welcome to the Republic of Zambia the leader of the Seventh Day Adventist Church Dr Ted Wilson and his wife Nancy.”

Dr Akombwa expressed joy that from the 10 baptised members that were there when the SDA Church started at Rusangu, Monze, in 1905, “in 2015 we met in this arena to celebrate our crossing of the one million baptised member mark.”

“Today we meet here, 118 years later, nearing 1.4 million baptised members in the Republic of Zambia. To God be the honour and glory!” said Dr Akombwa.

“Today we meet here to celebrate what God has been able to do to us in the 118 years. Today we meet here, as we worship the Lord, meeting with the leader of the Seventh Day Adventist Church worldwide, representing 22 million baptised members. Indeed, God is in this place.”

Until May 2021 when he was appointed to the SID, Dr Akombwa was the Southern Zambia Union Conference president.
