SEA OF PEOPLE IN NCHELENGE RALLIES BEHIND HICHILEMA’S 2026 BID.

A large crowd of Nchelenge residents has expressed support for President Hakainde Hichilema, saying they are ready to give him a second mandate in the August 13 General Election, citing the development they say has taken place in the district

Residents randomly interviewed by Zambian Watch News said the UPND administration has significantly increased the Social Cash Transfer for elderly beneficiaries from K200 under the previous PF government to K800.

They also praised the government for interventions during periods of hunger, saying many families benefited from mealie meal distribution, cash assistance, the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), Cash for Work programmes and other empowerment initiatives that have improved livelihoods in Nchelenge.

Addressing the residents, President Hichilema thanked the people of Nchelenge for their support and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering more development.

“Thank you, the people of Nchelenge District in Luapula Province. We are One Zambia, One Nation and One People. We will continue delivering for you,” he said.

The President pledged to improve the road network, create more jobs and unlock business opportunities through tourism and the fishing industry.

“We are resolved to work on roads, create more jobs and open up more business opportunities through enhanced tourism activities. Fishing will be supported as that is part of our agriculture programme,” President Hichilema said.

He urged the residents to vote for him and the UPND in the August 13 elections to enable the government to continue implementing its development agenda.

“Come August 13, go and vote for us so that together we can continue delivering development. Twatotela sana ba Nchelenge,” he said.
