SENIOR CHIEF MWEEMBA ANGERED AFTER HON. TREVOR MWIINDE REFERS TO HIM AS CHIEF MWEEMBA.
Senior Chief Mweemba has reportedly expressed anger at Choma South Member of Parliament, Honourable Trevor Mwiinde, after the lawmaker referred to him as Chief Mweemba instead of Senior Chief Mweemba.
The incident reportedly occurred after an error in typing resulted in the omission of the traditional leader’s senior title, prompting him to express his displeasure publicly and make remarks directed at Hon. Mwiinde.
However, Hon. Mwiinde chose to exercise restraint and wisdom by apologising over the microphone, explaining that the omission of the title was a typing error rather than a deliberate act of disrespect.
Despite the apology, Senior Chief Mweemba reportedly continued expressing his displeasure, a development that appeared to leave some traditional leaders visibly disappointed.
Hon. Mwiinde, however, maintained his respect for Senior Chief Mweemba despite the incident, demonstrating humility and restraint in the face of the public confrontation.
This happened today at Cooma Maanu traditional ceremony at chief Cooma palace Ground in Choma district.
The incident raises questions about the importance of mutual respect, patience and understanding when misunderstandings arise between political leaders and traditional authorities.

The Sr Chief over reacted to the omission of his title even after an apology by the Hon. MP. As human beings, we need to learn how to control our emotions especially when we are at a public function or event. There was nothing more that could be done because a clarification was made that it was not deliberate but a typing error. Omission of titles is common not only among the Chiefs but among the commons (subjects) as well. For example, there are people who have PhD and yet in most cases we omit their title as Dr. So it depends on how one takes it, whether title is omitted or not, it does not change anything, the title holder still remains the same. Therefore the cardinal point is that; Omission of a title is not a demotion, it still remains an omission.
