Serbia Opens Israeli-Linked Drone Factory, Plans Three More

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has confirmed the opening of a new facility in Serbia focused on the assembly of Israeli-designed combat drones, as Belgrade seeks to expand and modernize its domestic defense industry.

The factory is expected to supply drones to the Serbian Armed Forces while also supporting potential exports. Vučić said Serbia and its Israeli partners are already working toward establishing at least three additional defense factories.

The partnership could further strengthen Serbia’s position in the European defense-industrial market and increase its domestic capacity to manufacture unmanned aerial systems.

Israel is a major global developer and exporter of military technologies, including Hermes unmanned aircraft, missile-defense systems, surveillance platforms and precision-guided weapons.

The expansion of Israeli-Serbian defense cooperation comes as countries across Europe continue investing in drone production and other military technologies.

Could Serbia’s growing partnership with Israel turn the country into a major drone producer in Europe?
