SHADRECK KASANDA REFUSES TO ENDORSE MUNDUBILE, I’M A BUSINESSMAN, HE SAYS.

Prominent Zambian businessman and entrepreneur Shadreck Kasanda has refused to endorse the candidacy of Brian Mundubile ahead of the August 13 General Election.

The much-anticipated broadcast left many opposition supporters disappointed, as they had hoped the businessman would throw his weight behind Brian Mundubile’s candidacy.

Speaking during a live broadcast on “Zambia We Want,” Kasanda said he is a businessman with no interest in politics.

He, however, said his passion is to see young people empowered rather than being used as tools of political violence.

Popularly known as “King Shad,” Kasanda, who is estimated to have a net worth of around US$200 million, said young people should reach out to him to discuss serious business opportunities.

He said he is willing to dedicate his life to ensuring that Zambia’s youths have a better future.

“I’m here to publicly say that I’m a businessman who has no interest in politics whatsoever. However, I’m concerned that youths are being used as tools of violence by politicians. That is what hurts me the most,” he said.

“To the youths, desist from being used as tools of violence. Instead, reach out to me to discuss constructive business ideas that can help all of us build a better life,” he said.

Earlier, NRPUP supporters, including exiled former Petauke Member of Parliament Jay Jay Banda, Maxwell Chongu, Lilian Mutambo, and others, shared claims that Shadreck Kasanda was joining the alliance.

Kasanda is estimated to have a net worth of around US$200 million. Publicly known as “King Shad,” he built his wealth primarily through investments in the gold and diamond trade.
