Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hon. Gift Sialubalo, MP has pledged to strengthen local governance, accelerate rural development and improve public service delivery following his reappointment by President Hakainde Hichilema.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Sialubalo thanked the President and the United Party for National Development (UPND) for renewing their confidence in him, while expressing gratitude to the people of Kariba Constituency for their continued support.
He said he had accepted the responsibility with humility and a renewed commitment to serving the nation, emphasising that his ministry has a critical role in translating national development priorities into tangible improvements in people’s lives.
Sialubalo said advancing the Grow Zambia Agenda would require effective local governance, accountable public service delivery and development programmes that reach communities, create economic opportunities and improve livelihoods.
He also underscored the importance of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), describing it as a key instrument for taking development closer to the people through investments in community infrastructure, education, healthcare, local enterprise and the empowerment of young people and women.
The minister pledged to work with local authorities, Members of Parliament, councillors, traditional leaders, cooperating partners and community structures to strengthen accountability, improve coordination and ensure public resources deliver meaningful results.
He stressed that every kwacha allocated to community development must translate into tangible progress and better living conditions for citizens.
Sialubalo further reaffirmed his commitment to the government’s development vision, pledging to prioritise the aspirations of Kariba Constituency residents while working towards broader national development goals.
He called for unity, integrity, accountability and collective effort in implementing development programmes, expressing determination to strengthen the impact of the CDF and advance the Grow Zambia Agenda.
“The responsibility is great, but our determination to serve must be greater,” Sialubalo said.
