Social media star dies at 17 after choking on her meal and falling into a coma
Arisara Karbdecho, a social media celebrity, died after falling into a coma earlier this year, according to her family.
The Thai model, 27, is said to have choked on pork kebabs and sticky rice while trying to finish her supper in March.
Arisara died on Monday, June 6, after being in a coma for several months following the bizarre incident.
Her mother Supicha, 57, has explained how her daughter was always in a rush and had been busy when she consumed her meal quickly, with the food becoming lodged in her throat and causing her to choke.
Arisara better known by her online moniker Alicebambam, was rushed to hospital but medics said it was “nine minutes too late” as her brain had been deprived of too much oxygen.
The popular star was placed on life support until her death was confirmed on Monday.
Arisara’s pal Sirikanda Chaiburut has revealed a wake will be held for her until June 10, and she will be laid to rest the following day.
“We were shocked when the accident happened but we were all praying she would get better,” the late star’s friend said in the wake of her death.
“She was so young and beautiful. I’m devastated she has gone forever.”
Arisara’s grieving mother Supicha Supicha also spoke out following her daughter’s death, reminding teenagers to take good care of their health.
“I would like to remind all teenagers to take good care of their health, eat food on time, and get enough rest,” she said after it was confirmed the social media star had passed away.
“If I were with her, this kind of tragedy wouldn’t have happened. And I don’t want this kind of thing to happen to anyone or any family again.”
The popular had over two million followers across Facebook and Instagram and had become known online for her sexy snaps and for losing seven kilograms within 22 days.
