SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS THAT AFRIKANERS RETURNING FROM THE UNITED STATES WILL CONTINUE TO ENJOY FULL CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION
The South African government has reaffirmed that Afrikaners and all other South African citizens who choose to return from the United States will continue to enjoy the full protection of the country’s Constitution.
The statement follows reports that some South Africans who had hoped to relocate to the United States under a resettlement programme were unsuccessful in their applications. In response, Cabinet said all South Africans remain equal before the law and that returning citizens will not face discrimination because of their decision to seek opportunities abroad.
Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said South Africa remains home to all its citizens and that everyone is entitled to the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, regardless of race, political affiliation or previous place of residence.
Cabinet also urged South Africans to reject racial division and work together to address the country’s economic and social challenges. The government stressed that every citizen has a place in South Africa and that constitutional protections apply equally to everyone.
