SOUTH AFRICAN MINISTER KHUMBUDZO NTSHAVHENI ISSUES FRESH WARNING TO US AMBASSADOR AS TENSIONS BETWEEN PRETORIA AND WASHINGTON CONTINUE TO GROW
Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has defended South Africa’s decision to formally summon US Ambassador Leo Brent Bozell III, saying government officials were concerned about what they described as repeated undiplomatic conduct.
According to officials, this is the third time in nine months that concerns have been raised with the ambassador through diplomatic channels. Ntshavheni also pointed to disagreements over several issues affecting relations between Pretoria and Washington, including discussions around South Africa’s strategic minerals and broader diplomatic matters.
The latest developments highlight ongoing tensions between South Africa and the United States, with both countries continuing to engage on issues of mutual interest despite growing disagreements.
Do you think South Africa was right to take a tough stance, or should both countries focus on repairing relations? 🇿🇦🇺🇸
