South Korean Opposition Criticizes Government Over Diplomatic Dispute With Ukraine

South Korean opposition leader Na Kyung-won has sharply criticized President Lee Jae-myung’s government over its diplomatic dispute with Ukraine, warning that the tensions could undermine South Korea’s national interests and security.

Na specifically condemned the decision to recall South Korea’s ambassador to Kyiv, arguing that the government is taking a much tougher stance toward Ukraine while remaining more cautious in its dealings with North Korea and Russia.

“What exactly can the Republic of Korea gain from a diplomatic conflict with Ukraine?” she asked.

Na argued that the dispute primarily benefits Moscow and Pyongyang, rather than serving Seoul’s strategic interests.

She also thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his decision regarding North Korean prisoners of war captured in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of freedom.
