Stop calling southerners tribal if you didn’t campaign there – Imboela
The votes from Southern show that the opposition could have done better if only they campaigned there. So stop calling them tribal
And I don’t mean any one party but the opposition in general. Politicians normally feel that campaigning in Southern Province is a waste of time because the people there are very tribal and so it’s a waste of time.
But for the past 5 years I always challenged my fellow opposition to campaign in Southern Province and see if they would not be voted for.
Well, many still never set a foot there but the Southerners are voting for them. Parties are not getting the HUGE zeroes we saw in 2021 and other elections.
Spot on. UPND have demonstrated that they are for all of Zambians and not regional. They engaged with all the regions and ha e penetrated the areas where they have been unpopular for years. 25 years in existence is not a small achievement.
The opposition still have a long way to penetrate the strongholds of their opponents. Therefore it is clear that right now the opposition has done nothing or very little to make a significant change in the strong holds of their opponents.
