PATRIOTIC Front senior member Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba says the performance of the UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema since assuming office is extremely poor.
Speaking when he featured on Power FM’s ‘Power and Politics ‘ radio programme, Amb. Mwamba said President Hichilema and his Government have backtracked on many campaign promises they made prior to the August 12, 2021 General elections.
He said the UPND Government’s honeymoon came to end on the 16th December, 2021 when they increased fuel prices.
Amb. Mwamba said many Zambians now think President Hichilema is taking them for a ride.
” President Hichilema’s performance is extremely poor. He has u-turned on many promises made prior to the elections. Their honey came to end on 16th December 2021 when they increased fuel prices,” Amb. Mwamba said.
” President Hichilema enjoys massive support on social media and look at the criticism he got following the increase in fuel prices. Many Zambians think he has taken them for a ride,” He said.
And Amb. Mwamba said there were no empty coffers left as alleged by President Hichilema.
He said the PF Government managed to pay CDF on time and is the only Government in the history of country to have paid huge number of pensioners.
“There were no empty coffers as allegedly by President Hichilema. The Government paid CDF on time. A picture was painted that the PF was not paying pensioners despite dismantling a huge number of retirees. Statistics show that the PF is the only regime that paid alot of pensioners. UPND played their politics properly and made people believe that PF was not paying pensioners,” Amb. Mwamba said.
Meanwhile, Amb. Mwamba said the results in the just ended Kabwata parliamentary by election gives hope that the PF is not as bad as it is been painted.
” Over 11,000 people voted for PF and its candidate Clement Tembo in the Kabwata parliamentary by election and the results gives us hope that the PF is not as bad as it is painted.
