Finished Politician?
By Dickson Jere
A young friend of mine is happy. He had a bone to chew with one Cabinet Minister who has just lost his parliamentary seat. The youngman went to his page and called him names and that the ex Minister was a “finished politician” and it was “good riddance”. A lot loved the comment and increased the volume in attacking the losing candidate.
I quietly reached out to this youngman. I advised him that it was too soon to celebrate the downfall of this former Minister.
“There is no finished politician unless one who is dead,” I advised the youngman.
I alerted him that the former Minister is eligible for appointment to other powerful government position.
“What if he becomes the Chairman of RDA?” I asked.
The youngman – who is a road contractor – saw my point and immediately deleted the post.
While you celebrate the downfall of politicians we may not like, always remember that they may bounce back in different categories.
There is no finished politician. Former Ministers become Ambassadors, Board Chairmen and all if their party forms government. So, if you are in business, mind what you post during this period of electioneering. People do keep the record!

The wise man Mr D.J,people must be mindful with what they post on social media.
