THEY PROMISED JOBS, GAVE THEM GUNS: AFRICA’S YOUTH DYING IN RUSSIA’S WAR
Over 1,400 young African men are fighting Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Most don’t survive their first month.
They were promised jobs. Security work. Good pay. A better life.
Instead, they got Russian military uniforms, a rifle, and a one-way ticket to the freezing frontlines of a war that isn’t theirs.
Some signed contracts in Russian—a language they don’t speak—thinking they were becoming guards. They became cannon fodder.
Ukraine has captured some. Russia doesn’t want them back. Their home countries can’t negotiate for them. They sit in prison. Forgotten. Abandoned.
TO PRESIDENT PUTIN :
These are not your citizens. These are desperate men you exploited. Send them home.
TO AFRICAN LEADERS :
Your young men are dying in foreign wars because there are NO JOBS at home. While you build palaces and stash millions abroad, your youth are being sold as mercenaries for $2,000 and empty promises.
This is what happens when a generation has no hope, no opportunity, no future in their own countries.
They don’t need wars. They need JOBS. They need INFRASTRUCTURE. They need leaders who actually CARE.
Our sons deserve better than dying in someone else’s battle.
Africa, wake up. This is OUR emergency
